West Coast winter finally set in this week and pouring (sometimes sideways) rain flooded streets & raceways alike. For some, this would dampen spirits + hopes of podium finishes. For others, it was an exciting opportunity to splash thru puddles past slower cars…. ;)

Not everyone needed rain tires to race at ACS in Fontana CA this weekend. The Spec Miata class seemed to enjoy clear skies and dry race lines judging from this on-board cam:

Our sources in Europe assure us it’s a done deal and that Petrov will replace Jarno Trulli to become teammates with Heikki Kovaleinen.

Veteran Italian driver Jarno Trulli has today reacted to increasing rumours in F1 circles that his Caterham seat is under threat from Lotus Renault refugee Vitaly Petrov.

According to articles on ESPNF1.com (“Jarno Trulli slams ‘less committed’ pay drivers”) and SpeedTV.com Pay-Drivers ‘Not Good Enough’ For F1 – Trulli:

“There is no rule, but it is true that those who pay are less accustomed to suffering. They are less committed.

“Hiring them is a business decision but in my opinion it’s not worth it.”

To which Red Bull’s Christian Horner said:

“For a team it has always been about finding the right balance between financial considerations and talent,” he said. “It’s something that is as old as Formula One.”
