14-20 INCHES OF SWEET POWDER EXPECTED OVERNIGHT, MUCH MORE ON THE WAY

Yes, the much anticipated snow has arrived, several inches of wet snow fell overnight with the storm expected to continue and get colder as it progresses. This couldn’t have worked out more perfectly, the moisture from the wet snow will help us form a base then as the storm gets colder and the snow gets drier Pow Hunting Season begins! With another 14-20 inches expected overnight, all of our efforts are going towards readying the mountain to open more terrain off Chairs 5 and 11 first, then Chair 6 and also to open the Timber Creek base area including the Bunny Chair and TC Express for tomorrow morning.

Hells YEAH!! see you on the mountain!

Each year riders work to produce all the pretty pictures and video that glamorize the snowboarding lifestyle. In effect it’s porn; watching someone effortlessly land a gnarly trick turns our crank but it’s something that’s unattainable for most of us—a fantasy. The reality of getting just one shot for their video part is something much different than the final result. For every trick landed there’s dozens of bails. For every shovel full of snow thrown there’s a dozen fart and shit jokes told. Sessions can be the most grueling experience or the slackest time ever. For each crew, jump or rail it always changes. Uncapped is a series that looks at the personalities behind the lens and how they approach professional snowboarding. On the first episode of the series we follow Andrew Geeves, Mikey Pederson, Geoff Brown, Max Ritchie and Eric Greene as they film for Sandbox on the Brandywine 1080 hip.

In 2010 the boards sported the community-fave Walcock (half Walrus, half Cockrel) on the topside and a Beagle (half Bear, half Eagle) on the bottom:

If you missed out on the 2010 model, you may get a chance at another hybrid in 2011. According to the artist, Phil Wiles, there may be a Crog board in the works:

We created about six different hybrids but the most popular was the Walcock (half Walrus, half Cockrel) so he made it onto the topsheet. The Beagle (Bear, Eagle) was Mike’s choice – he liked the bear as we’re a Californian company, so it’s a pretty good fit. I still have a lot of time for the Crog (Crow, Dog) but he didn’t make the cut, maybe next season…

A Crow Dog would be wiiiiicked!!
