Air travel is again disrupted as airports around Ireland & England are hit with a second wave of wind-borne ash. Heathrow announced today that some flights would resume this evening, but sources say the international hub may have to close again before Tuesday.

Heathrow Airport in London will remain closed until 1pm Sunday, but if winds don’t move the volcanic ash out of the airspace, it could remain closed for up to 5 days more! Also, there’s concerns about potential activity from another, more dangerous volcano nearby. Read on for details.

The Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland spews ash across Europe, but probably won’t block the sun long enough to affect global temperatures, but may keep airports closed for a full week!
