I’m constantly scouring the web for reliable info on how to build a better engine, get better gas mileage/cleaner emissions/safer conditions, etc. and when I find a good source, I like to share it with y’all. My latest find is bookmark-worthy for DIY mechanics wanting a better grasp on how things work – Super Street Magazine’s archive of tech articles. Here’s 2 examples to get ya started:

When you look at the numbers, most people are still driving gas-guzzlers. A very small number of folks in the U.S. drive hybrids or fuel their car with biodiesel and very few drive vehicles powered by alternative fuels or renewable resources. Thus, the market continues to focus on fuel-efficient powerhorses like the new Mustangs. (Though I’m personally more interested in Ford’s new Eco-Boost’ed V8 like the 2010 Raptor has…)

There are three authors that have profoundly affected my awareness of the world which, in turn, influenced the course of my destiny. These three writers are an absolute must-read in my book. Each have helped re-wire my neural circuitry and created whole new pathways in my brain with their revolutionary intellect and ability to communicate. While others have done this as well, these three stand out. Anyone interested in the future – on a scientific level, an industrial level as well as a cultural level – can benefit from the ideas and future-thinking of these amazing authors.
They are, in order of my own discovery:

Erik Davis
Ray Kurzweil and
Tom Fenton
